The Singapore Club Sweden is based in Stockholm and was formed in the early 1990s. The Singapore Economic Development Board and a couple of Singaporeans residing in Stockholm then were the pioneers who started the Club. Since then, it has been working as a Swedish-Singaporean association.
Today the club consists of both Singaporeans and non-Singaporean, and its
serving as a social platform for people with different culture backgrounds to meet and interact. In addition, the association keeps the members informed about the major developments in Singapore.
The Singapore Club Sweden organises social activities for members and their families. Its the key objectives of the Club to continually create platforms for social interactions as well as keeping in touch with events back home. The association organises events such as National Day Celebration and festive celebrations such as Chinese Lunar New Year and Mooncake festival.
Almost all of the clubs activities takes place in Stockholm, since thats where
most of the members and committee resides.
The Singapore Club Sweden also serves as a connection bridge to Singapore, mainly thanks to the Singapore International Foundation from which the club gets information
about things that take place in Singapore, as well as useful information for
Singaporeans abroad and those planning to return home.
The SIF is futher more our major sponsor and help us celebrate events such as
National Day and Chinese New Year.
